Train to become an assessor in this brilliant, and enlightening workshop.
Question: I want to assess people to issue competency certificates
for firearms - what must I do?
CHECKLIST:
1.
Do
you have experience using a firearm? 2.
Do
you have proper certificates that prove that you can use a firearm /
OR military training on firearms?
Please
note that the SETA and Police do accept your military training.
If you meet these 2 criteria, you are suitable to book for this
course.
If you are successful, you can apply to the SASSETA (we can assist you)
to assess people on one or or more of the following:
- Pistol / handgun
- Rifle,
- Machine gun,
- Shotgun. You must have already been trained to use these weapons. You will
be asked by SASSETA to prove this.
This is exactly what some people are doing to start their own business,
or licence their shooting range, or game farms for training.
Question:
Does SAPS recognise this training? This training is necessary to get you
registered as an assessor. When you are registered as an assessor, you
get a registration number. It is the registration number they need.
Please note: This course is based on the
most recent assessor standard. Although assessors periodically have
to re-register, people who already are assessors, based on the old unit
standards DO NOT have to re-do their training.
